Message from our Pastor Dr. Wesley Henry  5.29.07

The Post Oak Presbyterian Church is characterized most by the word “family.”  This word has two meanings for this church.  First of all, many of the those who attend have other family members in the church. And these families have their roots deep in the history of this church. Some of these families can trace their history back to the early days of the church. Indeed, some count their relatives among the pastors of this church. But this church is family in another way.  When a new family comes to this church, it only takes a Sunday before this church is extending the arms of acceptance and showing them that they too can be a part of the Post Oak family.  I am reminded of Psalm 133 which says, “How good and pleasant it is when brothers (and sisters) live together in unity!”  That’s been my experience in this church across the past twelve years I have been coming to the church pulpit.  I truly count it a privilege to be the pastor of this congregation. As the song we sing says, “I’m so glad I’m a part of the family of God!”
