Pastor Ryan Barnhart

Thank you for taking the time to search our Post Oak Website! I am Pastor Ryan Barnhart, and I would like to tell you a little about myself. I was blessed to grow up in a godly, Christian home and I can honestly say I don’t ever remember a time when I didn’t love Jesus. I understood that I was a sinner who needed a Savior, so as a young boy I made a public profession of faith and was baptized. When I graduated high school in 1993, I went to Tennessee Tech for a semester, but I found the Lord was taking me in a different direction. I announced my desire to enter the ministry soon after I stopped attending college. I married the love of my life, Kim, in 1996, and together we have three beautiful girls – Amelia, Molly, and Kathryn.

In 2001 I was ordained and accepted a call to Oak Grove Baptist Church in Livingston, TN. God gave us eight and a half years of fruitful ministry at Oak Grove, but I resigned in 2009. The reason I resigned is because I felt a calling to the Presbyterian Church. I had been intently studying the reformed faith for most of my time at Oak Grove, and I slowly began to realize that my heart’s desire was to receive a call to a local Presbyterian church. That call came earlier this year when I was blessed to become the pastor of Post Oak.

These days I stay quite busy raising a family and pastoring. I enjoy studying theology, liberty, and free market economics. I am also finishing my M.A. in Public Policy. Through all of the busy times, however, I find that one of the greatest desires in my life is shepherding God’s people and preaching and teaching the Word of God to them. I would like to extend a warm welcome to everyone who reads this to visit us at Post Oak Presbyterian Church! You won’t find a better group of people to worship with!
